San Diego, CA (PRWEB) August 17, 2012

Max’s Ring of Fire (MROF) is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual Touch A Truck fundraiser, which will take place from 10AM 3PM on September 29, 2012 at Qualcomm Stadium. The 4th annual event is Californias largest kid-friendly car show offering families a hands-on experience with the biggest, fastest and loudest motor vehicles that are guaranteed to make young hearts race. The fun-filled extravaganza will also offer military displays, Sea World and Star Wars characters, slot car races, live music, food trucks, face painting and much more! Touch A Truck (TAT) San Diego is presented by Maxs Ring of Fire, a local kids cancer fundraising and advocacy group, and 100 percent of the event proceeds will be used to support childhood cancer research and clinical trials.

The publics response to Touch A Truck has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, and we are thrilled to have the additional space that Qualcomm Stadium offers for this years event, says Melissa Mikulak, Co-Founder of Maxs Ring of Fire. Our son Max loved trucks and machines of all kinds, and celebrating that appreciation with other families is the perfect way to honor his memory while raising money to help fight childhood cancer.

Poised to be the largest event of its kind in the U.S., TAT offers the coolest collection of personal, commercial, law enforcement and military cars and trucks on display for hands-on exploration. Virtually every type of vehicle imaginable and their operators will be present – from fire trucks and construction rigs to military equipment, hot rods, motorcycles and race cars. This is the place where the young at heart can climb-in, climb-on and honk the horn!

A bevy of delicious eats will also be available, with more than 15 food trucks already slated for the event – including Bretts BBQ, Miho Gastrotruck, Two for the Road, Kona Ice, Espresso Urbano, Flippin’ Pizza, Miss Sushi, Groggy’s, Underdog, GreenGo, Thai 1 On, Bitchin’ Burgers, Devilicious, Urban Eats, InSlider, the Dog Shack, The Gooch and more. Each truck will donate 20 percent of the days’ proceeds to the fundraiser, and Sizzler’s ZZ Truck and Rubio’s Fish Taco Truck are donating all their proceeds to MROF from their trucks.

TAT tickets are still only only $ 5 per person, and can now be purchased online at http://www.TouchATruckSD.com. Parking is free.

This year, MROFs annual Touch A Truck and MaxRun events are being combined into a single, action-packed festival. Registration for MaxRun will include admission to Touch A Truck, with both the fast 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run kicking off at 8 a.m., finishing inside Touch A Truck. About Touch A Truck

Touch A Truck San Diego is inspired by the life of young Max Mikulak, who at the age of three was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma a common yet difficult to treat childhood cancer. Max lost his hard-fought battle with the cancer at the tender age of seven. Maxs parents, Andy and Melissa, celebrate his life and honor the gift of childhood by doing all they can to raise funds for and awareness about childhood cancer which kills more children than AIDs, asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and congenital anomalies combined.

Proceeds from the TAT event will go support the Neuroblastoma and Medulloblastoma Translational Research Consortium (NMTRC). Based at the Van Andel Research Institute in Michigan, the NMTRCs clinical trials are hosted at twelve childrens hospitals nationwide including our own Radys Childrens hospital. This childhood cancer research and translational medicine program’s mission is to provide children with more precise, predictive approaches to treating advanced neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma and to bring these trials to the bedside now.

Sponsors of the 4th annual Touch A Truck include First Move Investments LLC, Wells Fargo, Coast Science, Aspireirb, Sizzler, Rubios, Mauzy Heating & Air, Predator Inc., Happy Family Superfoods, Next Generation EC, and Target Solutions. In-kind sponsors include Peakfinders Training, Teneleven Interactive, Grondin Construction, Webconnex and Zimmerman Communications.
